Overview & Pricing

Guitar Lab is a center of guitar learning & instruction based in the Lutz / Wesley Chapel area of Tampa, Florida. We offer one-on-one guitar instruction for all styles of music, including rock, blues, country, jazz and more. The cost for guitar lessons is $30 per half hour or $55 per hour. Payments are due monthly at the beginning of the month.

We currently do not offer online lessons or lessons for instruments other than guitar.

The most popular times for guitar lessons are on Saturdays and weekday evenings, but other times are also available. Please contact us to inquire about a specific time.

The owner and primary instructor at Guitar Lab is Greg Evers.

Owner Bio

My name is Greg Evers, the owner of Guitar Lab. I have been playing guitar for over 50 years and I teach at the Guitar Lab offices.

I studied guitar privately for 7 years with Duke Michalak in St. Louis, Missouri. Duke was well known in the St. Louis area for his incredible skill as a guitar player and teacher. Duke’s other former students include Peter Mayer (Jimmy Buffet’s Coral Reefer Band) and Richard Fortus (Guns N’ Roses).

I was a member of the instrumental jazz band Danbury Street from 2012 - 2016 in St. Louis, Missouri. Danbury Street frequently performed at Evangeline's, a New Orleans-style restaurant, and can be seen in this locally produced feature for Feast Magazine.

I also played guitar in the R&B band Exit 3 in St. Louis, Missouri from 2003 - 2006. Audio samples of this group can be heard here.

I am currently performing in an acoustic duo called The Unwinding that performs regularly in the Tampa Bay area. The website for The Unwinding can be viewed here and the link to the YouTube channel is here.
